Point Guards

This is a position that the Bobcats are in perfect shape. They have the young kid in Raymond Felton and the productive mentor in Brevin Knight. The only problem that the Bobcats might run into is how to divide the minutes, because they’re too small to play together without being bullied on defense. Raymond Felton was one of the Bobcats first round picks last season, but he played big minutes in the second half and excelled. The smart money is that Felton plays about 30 minutes a game, just like he averaged last season. Felton needs better shot selection (39.1%), but that should come with experience. Felton averaged 11.9 points per game as a rookie last season and also averaged 3.3 rebounds per game. Felton had a good season dishing out assists (5.6 per game) and stealing the ball with his quick hands (1.3 per game).

Brevin Knight is small, but super-fast. Knight has never been a big scorer, as he has only averaged 8.2 points over his 536 game career. Knight is a good court general at the point guard spot, averaging 6.8 assists per game in his career, despite playing only 26.7 minutes per game. Knight is also a great pick-pocket…..he has averaged 1.9 steals per game for his career.
