The Charlotte Bobcats aren’t playing their rookies much this season

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Reports by alleyoop on Thursday 7 January 2010 at 9:00 am

With the Eastern Conference being as weak as it is this season the Bobcats are going all out to make the playoffs and that has resulted in the rookies not getting much playing time. Forward Derrick Brown has played pretty decent in his limited time on the court this season. He has played in 24 games (0 starts) in which he has averaged 11.6 minutes, 4.0 points, 1.6 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game. Brown could get more playing time if the need arises due to injury along the frontcourt. SG/SF Gerald Henderson has been pretty awful this season for the Bobcats so far. He has played in 21 games (0 starts) in which he is averaging 8.9 minutes, 3.2 points, 1.0 rebound and 0.3 assists per game. Henderson is only shooting 37.9% from the floor and 28.6% from three point range this season. Until his shooting picks up I just don’t see him getting much playing time.

You must be a Idiot. Larry Brown does not play Rookies. To say that Brown or Henderson are awful or even speak of there number is ridiculus. Larry Brown won’t even give these kids a chance. You dont know squat about basketball or this team. Both these kids can play and is exactly how destroy your future. This franchise is going to pay down the line for this error. right now he is only looking at his legacy. The way he left detroit and NY was very bad as to how he’ll be remembered. He’s only trying to be the first coach to take the Bobcats to the Playoffs. He’s got personal goals. When this Franchise suffers in the future from this error, dummies like will be still talking about how bad this team is. You were right about one thing, they are going all out to make the playoffs, at the expense of this teams future. He will continue to try to make trades until you people have had enough. This man could not even win the Olympics with Labron and Carmelo, a .500 NBA coach thats all. His slow down approach is out of date, can’t win with it and never will. If this is what you want in Charlotte, then you deserve it. LOSER

    Big Poppa,

Is it every team’s goal to make the playoffs? It should be. Larry Brown has the Bobcats playing outstanding basketball right now. So what if Brown and Henderson don’t get to play much this year. When you bring in Larry Brown you are thinking about the now and not the future. Hell, he even took the Clippers to the playoffs in his only two years there…..think about that.
