The Bobcats played hard last night, they just weren’t good enough to win.  Gerald Henderson (20 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot) and Boris Diaw (19 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 1 steal) led the way for the Bobcats last night.  Shaun Livingston also had a good game with 17 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot.  D.J. Augustin had a rough night as he only shot 4 of 16 from the floor but he still finished up with 13 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists.  The Bobcats are now 26-37 on the year.

The Charlotte Bobcats sign Garrett Temple

The Charlotte Bobcats have signed 24-year old shooting guard Garrett Temple to a 10-day contract.  Temple played in 12 games (0 starts) earlier this year for the Bucks & Spurs and he averaged 8.7 minutes, 1.6 points, 0.7 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game.  He is only shooting 30.8% (8 of 26) from the floor so far this year.  He has now played in 39 games (4 starts) in parts of two years in the NBA and he is averaging 11.2 minutes, 4.0 points, 1.0 rebound and 0.7 assists per game.  It never hurts to give a guy like Temple a chance, so he might help out the Bobcats.

The Bobcats outrebounded the Blazers 41-33 tonight but it didn’t help them that much.  The Bobcats were brutal offensively tonight.  Gerald Henderson led the way for the Bobcats in this game with 16 points and 2 rebounds.  D.J. Augustin (14 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists) and D.J. White (12 points, 9 rebounds and 1 steal in 26 minutes) also pitched in tonight.  The Bobcats are now 26-36 on the season.

D.J. Augustin is getting back into the groove for the Charlotte Bobcats

23-year old point guard D.J. Augustin is getting back into the groove for the Bobcats lately.  In his last five games, Augustin is averaging 32.0 minutes, 18.4 points, 2.2 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game.  He has now played in 61 games (all starts) for the Bobcats so far this year and he is averaging 33.3 minutes, 14.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game.  Due to the Gerald Wallace deal last week with the Blazers, the Bobcats are going to need Augustin to look for his own shot more which is something I’m pretty sure he can handle going forward.

The Bobcats only shot 39.8% from the floor and it doomed them last night in L.A.  D.J. Augustin led the way for the Bobcats last night with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.  Shaun Livingston (12 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists) and D.J. White (11 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocked shots in 19 minutes) also pitched in last night for the Bobcats.  The Bobcats are now 26-35 on the year.

Denver Nuggets 120, Charlotte Bobcats 80

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General by admin on Thursday 3 March 2011 at 8:15 pm

The Bobcats were awful last night.  They shot 36.7% from the floor while not playing any D as the Nuggets shot 60.8% from the floor.  The Nuggets also outrebounded them 49-28, so the scoreboard should not come as much of a surprise.  Matt Carroll led the way for the Bobcats last night with 19 points and 2 rebounds in 27 minutes on the floor.  D.J. Augustin (13 points and 3 assists) and Shaun Livingston (12 points, 7 assists and 2 steals) also pitched in for the Bobcats last night.  The Bobcats are now 26-34 on the year.

The Charlotte Bobcats waive three players

Blogged under Big Bobcats News,Bloglockers,Comings & Goings,Front Page,General by admin on Tuesday 1 March 2011 at 6:02 pm

The Bobcats have waived 25-year old forward Dominic McGuire, 23-year old rookie guard Sherron Collins and 33-year old SG/SG Morris Peterson.  McGuire played in 34 games (4 starts) for the Bobcats this season and he averaged 13.2 minutes, 3.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game.  He is the player that the Bobcats will miss the most out of this bunch….but not too much.  Collins played in 20 games (0 starts) for the Bobcats this year and he averaged 3.3 minutes, 0.9 points, 0.3 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game.  Morris Peterson didn’t get into any games after the deal with the Thunder last week.

UPDATE:  (3/3/2011) – The Bobcats have re-signed Dominic McGuire.  That was probably a smart move after last night’s game against the Nuggets.

The Charlotte Bobcats lose Derrick Brown on waivers to the Knicks

The Charlotte Bobcats have lost 23-year old forward Derrick Brown on waivers to the New York Knicks.  Brown played in 41 games (1 start) for the Bobcats this season and he averaged 11.9 minutes, 3.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game.  Brown was shooting an impressive 54.9% from the floor for the Bobcats this year.  He played in 98 games (1 start) in two years with the Bobcats and he averaged 10.4 minutes, 3.4 points, 1.7 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game.  The Bobcats might regret cutting Brown loose down the road.
