The Bobcats didn’t play too well last night at either end of the court.  Reggie Williams led the way for the Bobcats last night with 21 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists.  Derrick Brown had the game of his life so far as he hit all 10 of his shots from the floor to finish up with 20 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists.  Kemba Walker (16 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists) and Byron Mullens (11 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals) also pitched in for the Bobcats in this game.  The Bobcats are now 3-22 on the year.

The Charlotte Bobcats need more production out of their centers

The Charlotte Bobcats have decided to give 19-year old rookie Bismack Biyombo a chance to move into the starting lineup.  He has played in 23 games (1 start) for the Bobcats so far this year and he is averaging 13.7 minutes, 3.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 0.2 assists and 1.4 blocked shots per game.  He will bring defense, rebounding and toughness to an otherwise pretty soft team.  22-year old Byron Mullens will be better served coming off the bench due to a contrast in styles with Biyombo.  Mullens has played in 24 games (9 starts) for the Bobcats so far this year and he is averaging 22.3 minutes, 10.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game.  He is a good offenisve player, but he’s a tad soft around the basket.  30-year old DeSagana Diop is now buried on the depth chart for the Bobcats, and for good reason.  Diop has played in 14 games (7 starts) for the Bobcats so far this year and he is averaging 12.8 minutes, 1.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game.  He is shooting a very pathetic 25.9% from the floor, which is amazingly bad for a 7-footer.

The Bobcats were outscored 23-17 in the 4th quarter last night and it did them in.  Kemba Walker (22 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal) and Reggie Williams (21 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 steal) led the way for the Bobcats last night.  Boris Diaw was also busy as he finished up with 13 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot in this game.  Bismack Biyombo got the start at center and he filled up the stat sheet with 11 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 2 blocked shots in 36 minutes on the floor.  The Bobcats are now 3-21 on the year.

The Charlotte Bobcats lose Gerald Henderson for a while

Blogged under Big Bobcats News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries,Need to step up by admin on Friday 3 February 2012 at 1:37 pm

The news keeps getting worse for the 3-20 Charlotte Bobcats as they are going to be without starting shooting guard Gerald Henderson for the next 2-4 weeks due to a pulled hamstring.  Henderson has played in 21 games (all starts) for the Bobcats so far this year and he is averaging 33.8 minutes, 15.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.  Henderson is the Bobcats’ leading scorer so far this year and they are only averaging 87.3 points per game this year, so they are going to miss him big time.  Look for 31-year old Matt Carroll and 25-year old Reggie Williams to see bumps in P.T. until Henderson is ready to return to action.  Carroll has played in 20 games (2 starts) for the Bobcats so far this year and he is averaging 13.6 minutes, 3.8 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game on a pathetic 34.6% shooting from the floor.  Reggie Williams has just recently starting playing for the Bobcats this year as he has been rehabbing an injury.  He has played in 2 games (0 starts) for the Bobcats so far this year and he is averaging 15.0 minutes, 4.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game.  The Bobcats are really going to miss Gerald Henderson and they better hope that he heals quickly.

Portland Trailblazers 112, Charlotte Bobcats 68

The Bobcats were pathetic last night as they only shot 32.5% from the floor!  They were down 92-48 after three quarters last night before the Trailblazers called off the dogs.  Gerald Henderson led the way for the Bobcats last night with 16 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist in only 21 minutes on the floor.  Derrick Brown (12 points and 4 rebounds in 27 minutes) and Byron Mullens (10 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocked shots in 20 minutes) also pitched in for the Bobcats last night.  The Bobcats are now a pathetic 3-20 on the year.

The Bobcats only shot 34.8% from the floor last night and they didn’t play much D either as the Lakers shot 55.3% from the floor.  The Bobcats were also outrebounded 47-34 by the Lakers last night, so the scoreboard shouldn’t come as much of a shock.  Gerald Henderson led the way for the Bobcats in this game with 14 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists.  Kemba Walker (12 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 steal), Derrick Brown (12 points, 3 rebounds and 1 steal) and Boris Diaw (11 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals) also pitched in for the Bobcats in this game.  The Bobcats are now 3-19 on the year.
